Search Tips

The Search Option on our website allows the user to search the entire Premier Healthcare Resource database of articles published by Premier Healthcare as well as information presented by us exclusively on this website. The Search Engine allows many options for finding information that is specific and relevant to your needs.

The simplest method is to search by Keyword. You may simply enter any word in the "Keyword" box and click on "Search." This option will, of course, give you the broadest number of hits. To narrow your Keyword search, you may:

  • Use quotation marks around words that are an exact phrase, for example, "Managed Care Organizations." This will yield only those items with the exact phrase contained within.
  • You may also use a + between words. This would require that all the words would need to be contained in the article, just not necessarily as a phrase. For example: Managed +Care +Organization will give different (and broader) results than using quotation marks.

Essentially, in the Keyword Search, the quotes mean search on the phrase, the + means search to find articles with all of the words, no quotes and no + means search on any of these words.

Using the Specifics

You may ignore the keyword altogether if you are looking for information from a specific issue and you know the date, or information about a specific topic or department listed in the drop down boxes.

All of the drop down boxes may be used independently or in conjunction with each other or with the Keyword.

For example if you would like to look at issues for a particular month, select the "Issue Date" drop down box for that particular month. Or, if you want to review articles by a particular author, go to the "Author" drop down box and select the author you are looking for.

To find information on Managed Care Organizations written by Richard Reece, MD, type "Managed Care Organizations" in the Keyword box and select "Richard Reece, MD" from the drop down author box and then click on the "Search" button.

When using more than one component of the search engine, you will only find articles that meet all selected criteria.
